Instructions
- Turn flowerpot upside down on scrap paper. Sponge flowerpot with 2 shades of orange acrylic paint above the rim. Allow paint to dry completely. Move on to step 2 while drying.
- Cut strips of cardstock, 2 of each color or pattern measuring, ½” x 7 3/4" and ¾” x 7-3/4”. Arrange strips in a pattern using varying size widths, prints and solids. You will need a total of 25 strips.
- Score each strip ½” from the bottom and 1” from the top.
- Arrange buttons over top of strips. Note not to attach any within 2” from the bottom.
- Thread floss and thin ribbons through buttons to add color and style. Attach to strips using adhesive squares affixed to back side of the buttons.
- Hold flowerpot in your hand and run the GlueGlider Pro all the way around the outer rim of the flowerpot.
- Attach 1st paper strip by folding 1” score down and aligning it between top and bottom edges of rim.
- Fold bottom ½” score and attach adhesive square to inside of scored cardstock strip. Lift up pot and secure along bottom edge. Repeat attaching additional strips in a counterclockwise direction while slowly building the rounded pumpkin shape.
- When all strips are attached, flip flowerpot over. Punch citrus dot cardstock using scallop circle punch and attach to bottom of flowerpot using micro adhesive squares. This will hide where the strips were attached. Flip pot back over.
- Use a CD to trace circle shape onto orange patterned cardstock of choice. Also trace inner circle. Trim out both with an Xacto knife. Flip over CD and trace again on green cardstock of choice.
- Attach patterned cardstock to both sides of CD using GlueGlider Pro.
- Cut bottom flap off of brown lunch bag and cut slit up center. Roll and twist until you get it thin enough to fit through CD hole. This makes the pumpkin stem.
- Once stem is through hole in position, flip CD over. Fan open bag by unrolling and making slits with a pair of scissors. Trim to make a rough circle and glue down using high tack adhesive squares. This will hold stem in place and make the handle for the candy dish lid.
- Roll pipe cleaner around pencil to make vine and wrap around pumpkin stem.
- Use personal die cut machine to cut leaves out** of your green cardstock (Coat back of cardstock with WallArt prior to running it through the die cut machine to create stickers). Make matching sets of leaves. Peel apart, attach to vine (pipe cleaner) and secure to pipe cleaner using adhesive squares.
**I used my QuicKutz® Silhouette™ to cut out leaves from solid green card stock. If you do not own a die cut machine and leaves die, you can use a leaf punch or stamp a leaf and cut it out.
